Metric Thread – Straight Hole – Heat/Ultrasonic Inserts Non-Stocked Alternatives

SPIROL’s Series 27 and Series 28 Metric Inserts are almost identical to the standard Series 29 and Series 30 Metric Inserts, but with a slightly modified profile to minimize stress in plastic assemblies with a thin walled boss. The Series 27 is symmetrical for ease of orientation, and the headed Series 28 has the exact same body as the Series 27 with the addition of a head to increase the bearing surface for the mating component to prevent jack-out. The Series 27 (symmetrical) and Series 28 (headed) metric Inserts are made-to-order in thread sizes ranging from M2 to M8.

Series 27 & Series 28 Short Heat/Ultrasonic Inserts - Metric

The Series 27 & Series 28 Short Metric Inserts were designed to be post-mold installed with heat or ultrasonics into straight holes with a 1° maximum (included) draft angle. These Inserts are identical to SPIROL’s standard Series 29 & Series 30 Short Metric Inserts with the exception of the center knurl band which is smaller in diameter than the standard Inserts for thin wall boss applications. Both the Series 27 Symmetrical & Series 28 Headed Short Inserts are made to order in metric threads ranging in size from M2 to M6.

The Series 27 & Series 28 Long Metric Inserts were designed to be post-mold installed with heat or ultrasonics into straight holes with a 1° maximum (included) draft angle. These Inserts are identical to SPIROL’s standard Series 29 & Series 30 Long Metric Inserts with the exception of having a smaller center knurl diameter for thin wall boss applications. These non-stocked alternatives are made to order in metric threads ranging in size from M2 to M8.
