Slotted Spring Pins
SPIROL’s Slotted Spring Pin offering consists of 1) SPIROL Standard Metric Slotted Pins, 2) SPIROL Standard Inch Slotted Pins and 3) ISO 8752 Slotted Pins. A Slotted Pin is a general purpose low cost component used in numerous fastening applications. Compressed as it is installed, the pin applies continuous pressure towards the sides of the hole wall. The primary spring action of the Slotted Pin is focused on the area opposite the slot as the two halves of the pin compress during installation. This flexibility allows the Slotted Pin to accommodate wider hole tolerances than rigid Solid Pins which results in reduced manufacturing costs of the component.
Otherwise known as Roll Pins, Split Pins, Expansion Pins, Tension Pins or simply Spring Pins, SPIROL’s Slotted Spring Pins are available in high carbon steel and stainless steel in diameters ranging from 1.5mm up to 12mm for metric pins and .062” (1/16) up to .500” (1/2) for inch pins.

Coiled Spring Pins
SPIROL offers Coiled Spring Pins in three different duties, light duty, standard duty and heavy duty, to match the required strength and flexibility for each application. A pin too strong for the applied force will not flex and can cause damage to the hole. A pin too flexible could prematurely fatigue in the application. The Coiled Pin with the optimal combination of strength, flexibility and diameter will result in the prolonged useful life of an assembly. Otherwise known as Spiral Pins, Coil Pins, Roll Pins or simply Spring Pins, Coiled Spring Pins are available in both inch and metric sizes in a variety of materials and finishes from .031” (1/32)/0.8mm in diameter up to .750” (3/4)/20mm in diameter. Inserts for Plastics
SPIROL manufactures a comprehensive line of Inserts for Plastics including Heat/Ultrasonic, Pressed-In, Self-Tapping and Molded-In styles allowing the designer to select a product specifically tailored to both the application’s performance requirements and the preferred installation method.
Inserts allow the proper installation torque to be applied to the bolt without stripping the threads, and ensure that the threaded joint is preserved for the life of the assembly. Inserts also enable unlimited assembly and disassembly without compromising the integrity of the threads.
SPIROL’s Inserts for Plastics are offered in thread sizes ranging from 2-56 (M2) to 5/16-18 (M8) - depending on Insert type.

Disc Springs
SPIROL offers the full range of DIN EN 16983 (formerly DIN 2093) Group 1 and 2 Disc Springs in Series A, B, and C. In addition to the DIN specified sizes, SPIROL stocks its own standard sizes with outside diameters ranging from Ø8mm to Ø200mm based on the standardized calculations of DIN EN 16984 (formerly DIN 2092). Standard materials include high carbon steel, alloy steel and stainless steel.
Disc Springs, oftentimes referred to as Belleville Disc Springs, Belleville Springs, Belleville Washers, or simply Conical Washers, may be used individually or assembled into stacks to achieve the desired force-deflection characteristic required for the application. In addition to providing single Discs, SPIROL also offers pre-stacked Disc Springs (greased or ungreased) in custom configurations packaged in shrink wrap with a perforated tab for ease of insertion into the assembly.

Tubular Spacers
SPIROL manufactures a standard line of metal tubular Spacers as low cost alternatives for cut-off tubing, ferrules, grommets, rivets and machined hollow dowels when used as standoffs, distance bushings, sleeves and axles. Often referred to as anti-crush sleeves, spacer tubes or rolled tubes, the most common use of a Spacer is to separate or space two components from each other by a distance equal to the length of the Spacer. The Spacer is commonly used in conjunction with a bolt that passes through the inner diameter (ID) to hold the assembly together. For this reason, the inside diameter of SPIROL’s Spacers are designed for a clearance fit with standard screws and bolts.
Spacers are available in two versions: the SP100 Standard Wall Spacer which is generally used in static applications with limited excessive forces exerted on the joint, and the SP150 Heavy Wall Spacer which is manufactured from thicker raw material for greater compression strength and additional bearing surface.
The standard protective finish for SPIROL’s Spacers is ArmorGalv® , a zinc alloy thermal diffusion coating that offers over 1,000 hours of salt spray protection with full coating on both the inner and outer diameters of the part.
SPIROL’s standard Spacers are designed for screws and bolts ranging in diameter from #4 - .750” (3/4) in lengths up to 4” for inch sizes, and metric diameters range from 3mm – 20mm in lengths up to 100mm. SPIROL can quickly manufacture any standard diameter Spacer to an intermediate length without any special tooling.
